7/2/2023 0 Comments Motiv villain scornThis ball is definitely the most angular piece in the Motiv lineup and it will definitely fit into a lot of bowling styles. Overall, The Villain Scorn is a versatile ball that will allow you to play from different angles and on different conditions. On sport shot patterns, the Scorn will be a great weapon to have once there are some friction and you have to open up the lane. On a house shot, this ball can be easily used both on fresh and on broken down conditions. When these balls start reading the lane early, the Scorn will be a great option to go to on most medium and heavy oil patterns. It is a great complement to the Villain and strong solid balls like the Trident Abyss or the new T10. It is very clean through the fronts, with a strong and predictable backend motion. It is more angular than the the Trident Quest and it offers a shape that Motiv didn’t have before. The Scorn fills a hole in the Motiv lineup. Overall this ball allowed me to play from multiple angles, it is definitely a versatile piece. I was able to move up to the third arrow, having 8 at my breakpoint and the Scorn always recovered with a strong backend motion. I started moving right with both my feet and my eyes and the Scorn let me play steeper angles and see enough recovery. Definitely more controllable than I thought. This core also has a higher differential that produces big track flare which creates greater ball motion. This ball uses the Sinister weight block which has a higher RG to move the ball down the lane while storing energy. When I missed inside, the pearlized cover offered enough hold to still hit the pocket. The Motiv Villain Scorn is an asymmetric ball with a pearl coverstock that was designed for medium to heavy oil. The ball stores so much energy so when it hits friction, it makes a hard turn to the right. The only thing I noticed is that at least for me, with my low/medium rev rate, misses outside are more forgiving than with other balls. I started laying the ball around 14 with 7 as my breakpoint and the ball had a great reaction. This ball makes opening up the lane really easy since it saves most of its energy for the last part of the lane. When I first tried the Trident Quest about a year ago, I thought that the Quest reaction was angular, that is until I had the Villain Scorn in my hands. We tried the new Villain Scorn on our house shot pattern and the Villain Scorn is definitely more angular than I thought, I was definitely impressed.Īs most pearlized balls, the Villain Scorn is very clean through the front part of the lane and once it hits the friction it makes a strong move down lane. Hello guys! It's been a while, but we are back and this time we had the chance to review the newest ball from Motiv, the Villain Scorn.
